Bargain!
We were supposed to ride from Chappell Hill this morning, but I called it off due to the violent thunderstorms going on. It had stopped raining up there by the time we were meant to ride, but the roads (and our rims) would have still been slick. I didn't fancy the idea of riding with no brakes.
After texting some folks to let them know, I took a look at the various running races going on. Donald from work had mentioned a 5k he was helping organise, so I sent him a text to ask where it was. "Houston ave and lubbock, opposite the courthouse under the lightning".
I went along and paid the $15 entry, plus a $10 donation to the charity. They gave me my t-shirt which I took back to my car. When I returned, I started putting on my number to find they had canceled the race. Yes, 5 minutes (or less) after taking my money, they canceled the race.
I understand why they canceled it. But why were they still taking registrations?
