I was thinking of taking ENGL 10 (with Ghosh) to fulfill my Area A-2 writing. Has anyone ever taken it before? I'm curious because I've never taken/heard of a writing class with a lecture along with the section. What goes on in section?

This is an English department large-lecture introduction to literature with sections. It is not a Writing Program course. You'll be doing critical reading and analysis. You'll have an introduction to different forms of literature and theory. IMO English 10 is similar to a senior AP English course, though obviously more compressed.

Thank you. What exactly goes on in section every week? (If you remember).

Ah, you know what, I thought you were talking about taking English 10 in FWS 2010-11 based on the catalog listing. In summer English 10 will be a small course, probably no more than 30, with no section, four days a week. So everything I said still stands, except for the class size!

Actually there were two different sessions available in summer. One of them, like you said, is small with no section pretty much. The one I signed up for has lecture MTWR and then I signed up for a section also on Thursday.

This is totally a late comment, but Ghosh is a fantastic professor. I took upper-division classes with her, not lower-division ones, so I guess things might be different -- but those classes were tough and fun and taught me a *lot*. Have fun!
