In order to apply for my visa to work and live in China,I need to obtain a Visa Notification and a Work Permit for Aliens (doo doo doo doo do doooooo [that was X-Files music, clearly]) from my employer. In order to do that, my employer needs my Physical Exam for Foreigner form. This form requires at least one visit to a general practitioner, a chest x-ray, an EKG, blood drawn for HIV and syphilis testing (I didn't sleep with Alex Karev, so it should be ok), a vision test, etc. etc. and so on. And a photo, less I be too ugly to teach, or something. Early this week, I was poked, prodded and bombarded with radioactive nuclides. Now, I just await the results of my tests and that all-important signature from my doctor.
And then we can move on to travel immunizations which, frankly, the People's Republic doesn't care if you have or not, and actually applying for the visa.
I met a woman yesterday who encouraged me to try everything there is to eat in China. Now, that's refreshing! She was also a backup singer for the Eagles. She is clearly quite an awesome person.
