Gap Fire part 3

Jul 07, 2008 16:25

Update: So, my house did not burn . . . nor did any houses, actually.  The fire has now burned 9,000 acres, but they predicted 500 houses would burn on Friday.  Luckily, they did not.

The fire came within two blocks of my house, and actually went so far as to burn the backyard of a house very close to us.  The firefighters are awesome, and kept it out of the TONS of neighborhoods at the base of the foothills.  I do wonder, however, why they proclaim on the news they are doing everything they can and announcing that it is a statewide disaster with all help possible being given, but my parents say they see a fireplane maybe every 4 hours . . .  where's the help?  Seriously?

The boy is at a pharmacology training class down south - it is live-in, for 3 weeks.  I miss him.  In his year plus living with me, the disorganization is beyond my liking, so I will take this time to OCDly rectify that.  In my boredom, I shall clean . . .
