Day 1: I'm In Virginia, What The Hell

Jun 22, 2005 06:19

So, end of Day 1. I'm exhausted. Hardly slept last night (loading iPod/packing) so I slept in the car on the way to the airport. Taking off from Long Beach was amazing though; it reminds me how "unreal" flying can seem. Everything, including the LA skyline, looked miniature, like I could just pick them up. I slept through most of the flight, and we landed at Dulles airport close to 5 eastern time. I slept most of the way to the hotel and then slept in the room some. Ha! So there's a bunch of construction outside our hotel but you can always count on Hampton Inn for a quality hotel experience (and shower). We took one of their shuttles down to old town Alexandria and ate at a place called the Fish Market. It was pretty good. Their tartar sauce was too sweet, but thumbs up for the fabulous mozzarella sticks. After a walk along King Street the shuttle picked us up and here we are back at the hotel. Tomorrow should be an interesting day in DC so I'll rest up now.
