First day of school!
The alarm is set: 5am wake up call. I need to be on the 6am foot ferry to be able to catch the 6:20am ferry to Seattle.
My first class begins at 8:30am. Horrid!
I have a a seminar I will be attending at the KAPLAN center at 6pm. The seminar is being given by Dr. Fischer, who is an infectious diseases specialist and a prolific teacher of medicine. He will be speaking about his new book Routine Miracles: Restoring Hope and Faith in Medicine, in which he discusses medical advances that would once have been called miracles but have now become routine. I really don't want to attend, but I see this as an excellent opportunity to learn about the practice of medicine from an experienced medical educator.
I'll be testing to see if my MBP allows me to take better notes vs writing on paper. Hopefully, I won't get mugged on my way home....
