Nightmare that ended in a dream~~~

(Advisory: this is a looooooong post. You may get eyestrain.  you have been warned.)

Yahoo!!!! After all the distress the Philippine Postal syestem caused me last Friday, our Arashi AAA Dome DVD finally arrived!!!

My worries actually started around Wednesday.  I received an e-mail from CDJapan informing me that they had mailed the DVD the Moday prior.  Usually it takes around 2 or 3 days to arrive so by Wednesday I was already on pins and needles, waiting for the call from our building's security guard to inform me that I had a package.  Unfortunately the call never came.  It also didn't help that Katie (
krazeekaytee) already got her copy.  My friend, Elle, suddenly YM-ed me saying that our friend Sheryll (
h_e_n_j_i_n) was asking how long it takes for CDJapan stuff to get delivered to the Philippines.  I found out that Sheryll also ordered the DVD.  Anyway, I went home that day, worried as to where the DVD could be.

The next day, Elle and I ended up chatting about the DVD again.  Around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, she told me that Sherryl called up the EMS office to inquire about her package.  Turns out that it arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday but was held at the customs office because they wanted to open it!!  I told Elle that without the notice from the post office, Sheryll wouldn't be able to get it.  Lucky for her, Sheryll's notice arrived at around 4 so she was able to claim the package the same day, albeit she had to pay like P1,300 ++ for taxes.  Yikes!!!  Needless to say, I went home that day pissed.  Pissed at the Philippine Postatl System because I paid extra for the shipping so that our orders were to be sent though EMS so that it would be delivered directly to our office, pissed at the fact that I hadn't received a postal notice for my order, pissed at the fact that I would have to go all the way to Pasay to pick it up once the notice arrived, and pissed at the fact that I might have to pay a lot in taxes for it.

On Friday, at around 10 AM, the security guard tells me the a guy from the post office was there.  I was hoping that it was my package and not a notice.  Bah!! Unlucky me, it was a notice.  Crap!  I had to figure out a way to get out of the office and trek all the way to Pasay for the DVD.  I was kinda scared because I would be riding a cab alone to go to a place I had no idea how to get there.  Maybe Lady Luck was with me that day because my boss allowed me to scurry off and do my "monkey business" and I was able to rope my officemate's wife to accompany me.

The trip wasn't long.  We arrived at the Postal office within 30 mins.  I thought that things were probably looking up.  Wrong!! There were like 30 people in front of me, all waiting for their names to be called so that the postal people could open their packages, pay whatever taxes, before they could bring the packages home.  Sheesh!!

As the day wore on, the patience of the people waiting wore thin.  Some claimed that a lot of people who just arrived were allowed to get their packages before the others.  Sigh!!  It was going to be a long day.  I ended up chatting with a lot of the people there as we all had a common ground: having waited for more that an hour for our respective packages.

Suddenly, my phone rang.  It was my officemate.  I thought that my boss was already looking for me.  Turns out that she calle dto inform me that a bomb exploded in Glorietta!! What the?????!!!!  After we hung up, I realized I had a lot of missed calls and text messages.  People were asking if I was ok and they were hoping I wasn't in Glorietta when it happened (my new office is near the mall).  So after replying to all of em that I was ok, I went back to wait for my name to be called.

After an hour and 30 mins waiting, my name was finally called.  I was actually pretty nervous, because I didn't want to pay anything more than P500 for tax.  When I saw my package, I was kinda surprised that the box was bigger than the Kiroii Namida DVD that was sent earlier in the month.  I was thinking to myself, what the heck could be in it for the box size to be different?  When the postal guy asked me what was in it, I told him it was a DVD that I ordered.  He asked if it was a DVD or player.  I showed him the invoice on the box that said DVD.  He again asked if was a DVD or a player.  Sheesh!  I wanted to explain to him that  DVD stands for DIgital Video DISC so of course it was a disc and not a player, otherwise the invoice would have said DVD PLAYER.  But since I was at their mercy, i just replied that it was a disc or "bala."  He then proceeded to open the box while I nervously waited.  Under all the padding, they found that it was just a DVD and taxed me P35.  On one side I was happy that it was only P35, on the other side I wanted to scream that they could have just charged me the P35 when they delivered it to my office, just like the last time!!!

My friend and I quickly left Pasay and headed back for Makati.  I ended up spending more for the cab fare (yeah i know... i'm still griping).  I hurriedly opened the box to see why it was bigger that the last one when a handsome, familiar face suddenly came into view.  It was one of my "Japanese loves."  Tsukamoto Takashi!!!!   CDJapan included a free mini magazine with the DVD.  No wonder they used a different box.  It wouldn't have fit if they used the standard size. Gah! I love CDJapan!

Here's the cover of the freebie that made me squeal with delight!!

Isn't he hot? Too bad he's married. Sigh!!  Takashi, why are you so hot?
wah!! so handsome! As Igor  pointed out, check out the lips !!!

Oh well!! All's well that ends well, I guess.
I just hope my next order (I hope not in the immediate future, though) will be hassle free.
