London & Stuff

May 14, 2009 17:02

I went to London yesterday and it was pretty good. Whenever I go there I always think it's a really weird place, almost like another country (the underground + people trying to shove newspapers in your face + really crowded = scary ), so I'm glad that the others knew what they were doing because I would have gotten completely lost on my own. Hell of a lot of travelling to do in one day though, the drive up when we go to see NIN is going to be a piece of cake compared to that.

I bought the most beautiful graphic novel and I saw an amazing fabulous wonderful handmade storybook at the exhibition we went to and now I feel really bad about myself. I think these things are supposed to inspire you but I just look at them and think I'll never be that good. D:

I know I shouldn't think like that, I have way too much work to get done to start again now. At least everyone is away this weekend so I can concentrate on that and hopefully catch up on some of it.

Comment to this entry and I'll pick three of your fandoms. You must then update your journal and answer the following questions:

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?

My answers for Samurai Warriors, Tenchu and MGS:

Samurai Warriors
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
My brother had DW3XL back in the day and I was really amused by the opening edit thing so I'd always do it and make them all Xu Zhu (who I called fat baby because I got really confused with the names) or Cow Cow. So yeah, I've been playing the musou games for a while but was never really, really into it until I randomly picked up Warriors Orochi in GAME and playing that just made me want to go back to SW2. Then I got all gay for Kotaro and the rest is history. XD

02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I'm kind of a loser so I buy the games no matter how shit they are. Case in point: SW Katana. I still liked that one because it had a whole Kotaro chapter but Hanzo was only in it once. D: And I liked the Magoichi one when he's chasing all the girls around, and Ginchiyo crushing on you. I really appreciate stupid stuff like that, that's why I like the Empires games. XD

03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
All of Kotaro's story in SW2 is my favourite because I love how he's always mean to Hanzo and says things just to piss him off but secretly loves him. I also really enjoy any of the levels where you get to kill Mitsunari or Nagamasa because I'm a jerk like that. :D

04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Not much, I think my taste in characters is too weirdgood for people to care about anything I do so I just keep it to myself, mostly.

05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
Yes. No. IDK. I want more people to like it that have good taste in characters because most of them bore the hell out of me. XD

Tenchu

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
James was a big fan of the first two games before I met him, so he got Wrath of Heaven when it came out and I was just really impressed and got totally addicted to it.

02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I've already moved on. I kind of hate Tenchu - the fandom and what the game itself has become. It's really sad, like an ex-partner or something because I have good memories of it but I know that if I play it again, it won't be like that. I wish they'd just give up and put all their efforts into Shinobido instead. Zaji is a much more interesting character than Rikimaru and Ayame combined, they're so stale and every game seems to have the same damn story. Yawn. -_-;

03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
Tatsumaru's story in Tenchu 2. I didn't like the lame 'amnesia' storyline but actually being on the bad side is so much better than playing as the other ones, although I do really like the temple level that you do with Rikimaru.

04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
I did, but it was so wanky. I'm glad now that they didn't agree with anything I said because they were all so fucking stupid.

05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

Metal Gear Solid

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
I watched my stepdad play some of MGS when it was first released but we were just borrowing it from a friend so he never finished it but I did really like the story and years later, I got to talking to James about it and he had a PS2 with MGS2 so he showed me that. It was just before we got together, actually. Then we went back to MGS1 and I finally got to see it finished and absolutely fell in love with it.

02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I'm not really active in the fandom, but I love the game and I can't ever see myself not loving it. I'd still buy remake upon remake no matter how much they bastardized it. We're die-hard MGS fans here. XD

03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
My favourite parts are just all really stupid things that Liquid says, but he says them in a funny way. I also really like Snake and Otacon's hug in MGS2 where they make it overly macho on purpose to try and cover up their totally-not-obvious gayness. Oh, and when Johnny saves the day in MGS4 and he's so unexpectedly gorgeous! The first time watching that was amazing. He makes MGS4 for me, he really does. XD

04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
No - I lurk a bit, I appreciate nice fanart and occasional fic but the fandom is insane. It's like Phoenix Wright, way too big for me to be able to keep up with and I'd just rather enjoy it on my own or with a few friends than have to put up with the inevitable wankery.

05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
Only if they're sensible. :p
