Name:
yancha_kittsune (a.k.a. Kittsune, Chiruken, Sandlewood)
Means of arrival: Did a search of interests...et voilà! Here I am. =^_^=
Your "Itachi" inspiration: My "Itachi-inspiration", huh? Hmm...that would be...
Images (a compilation of Itachi Renders I've gathered from all over the place...there'd be more, but I accidently deleted the album a while back T_T),
Fanfiction (my current favourite, even though it's soooo sad!),
Profile(s) (I'm a bit of a freak for details, so, yeah...) and, of course, a good ol' fashioned imagination. ^_~ (Even though I classify music as being a huge part in inspiring me to digging deep into a character's persona, I can't really say which one song would do it the most for me...)
Something about you: There's nothing much to say about myself...
I'm a Lurker. I prefer to exist within the shadows and comforts of Lurkdom, rarely emerging to say much though I'm almost always watching. Er...that sounds a bit creepy. O.o
Anyhoo...I'm married (been 8 years this past August 21st!), have three cats, one dog and my driving goal in life is to have my own personal library. ^_~
I'm an avid fan of anime and manga though, sadly, after a few failed attempts, I'm unable to read, write, or understand Japanese so I'm left to rely on subtitles and translations.
Naruto tickled my sense of the ridiculous while catering for my rather sadistic need for violence (I'm really a nice person, honest! I just have odd tastes in movies and anime). The moment I laid eyes on Itachi, I was hooked. I seem to be drawn to the dark, twisted, and occasionally misunderstood, typical bad-ass (Inuyasha = Sesshoumaru; Rurouni Kenshin = Battousai, Seta Soujirou; Trigun = Millions Knives; Bleach = Ulquiorra; Full Metal Alchemist = Envy; etc. the list could go on, and on, and on...). There was just something about him...something that just screamed "Mystery"! And from that moment on I've been attempting to unravel that mystery...without much success, unfortunately, but oh well. It's fun trying, right?
I dabble in writing fanfiction (under various pen names, though for the Naruto fandom, I've stuck to using the pen name "Sandlewood996" at
FFn,
AFFn, and
MM.og. I occasionally fiddle around with graphics (though I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the most artistically creative individual out there) and essentially obsess to my heart's content with anyone who'll listen. (I'm sure I've driven my friends and family around the bend with my incessant babbling on this topic...)
About Itachi: Hmm...this could take a while if I really got into it. But...I'm inherantly lazy so...I'll try to keep it short, simple and not too lengthy. =^_^=
I'm a firm believer that the character Uchiha Itachi is one of the most misunderstood and underestimated characters in the entire Naruto-verse.
Itachi, I think, was a shy, introverted child with little to no comfort in a social setting. He was both blessed and cursed with the mind of a genius, which led him to being further isolated from other members of his clan as well as children his own age. After all, while the other kids were playing in the mud, he was mastering the Sharingan. A lot of pressure was placed on him by his clan, but probably more so by his father. Though not much is shown regarding Uchiha Fugaku, the impression left is that he was a work-a-holic obsessed with excellence (at home and at work). I think he placed a lot of pressure on Itachi to not only excel, but to exceed all expectations...to be the best there ever was at the cost of all else. Uchiha Mikoto, though a kind and loving mother, seemed much more preoccupied with her younger son, Sasuke. Itachi's relationship with his younger brother appeared strained at times, due, in large part I think, by his inability to relate to the younger boy. While Sasuke appeared to be a well-adjusted child, Itachi was never given the chance to be a child himself.
Through my observations, it appears that in order for the members of the Uchiha clan to manifest their Kekkai Genkai, the Sharingan, they must endure severe psychological trauma (ie: when Sasuke first activated his Sharingan it was when his life was threatened during the Chuunin exams). For a child of Itachi's age, no matter how gifted he may have been, it would have been a severely traumatizing experience that was bound to leave psychological scars on his young psyche. Being thrust into the violent world of the shinobi would have added to the desensitizing he was already going through. Through his training, he wouldn't be able to place much value on human life. After all, it was, literally, a kill or be killed world in which he lived. Due to the circumstances surrounding the activation of the Mangekyou Sharingan, one can only assume that this drew him further into the darkness. As it is unclear as to what age he'd been when the events occurred that led to Itachi obtaining the Mangekyou, it can further be speculated that he wasn't mentally mature enough to deal with the repercussions associated with it.
His growing disatisfaction with the other members of his clan further alienated him from his peers. Having been raised within the arrogance of a clan renowned for their feelings of supriority and demands for perfection, his own advanced intellect and abilities would've led to him regarding them as being inferior. The pressure, the stress, the driving need to surpass all expectation finally became too much and he snapped, leading to the massacre of his entire clan save for his younger brother.
I'll end here other wise I may end up writing a mini-novel. **laughs** These are, of course, just my own opinions and speculations. Nothing has been proven...and there is a large possibility that I'm way off in left-field with this. =^_^=
