canon update effective may 4, 2011

Here's all you need to know about what happens to this lovely loli post-episode 17 of To Aru Majutsu no Index II anime, relying heavily on the light novel series, it's original canon. COME MY PRETTIES, I will have images to show you just how epic this series is, in the hopes that you will be lured in and app some of my favourite characters, y/y? No? Well okay then, just read anyway. WARNING, LOTS OF TL;DR.

So, bearing in mind that I took her when she first got to Yomikawa's (a member of Anti-Skill, the police force in Academy City and basically Accelerator and Last Order's foster mom) apartment, there's quite a bit to be updated on!

She has taken a bath with Yomikawa and Yoshikawa (one of the scientist researchers who took care of the Misaka clones before they were released to battle; also a foster mom figure), which Accelerator totally walked in on. So this is the second time he's seen her butt naked. Apparently this is important, because I'm telling you it now.

Afterwards, Last Order leaves the apartment and it auto-locks behind her. She tries furiously to get back in, but to no avail. Misaka #10032 shows up suddenly and Last Order proceeds to rant about her misfortune to her, which earns little sympathy from the clone (instead, 10032 just makes fun of her while hiding a laugh). Last Order stomps around in an angry circle, then points out the goggles on 10032's head. She then tricks her into bending down for her and SNATCHES those goggles from her, running off.

She ends up running all the way to the underground mall, where she clings to Kamijou Touma's (the main character and the saviour of the clones for a) defeating Accelerator and b) telling 10032 that she was her own person, not just a clone meant to die) arm. Misaka 10032, who had been there clinging to Touma's other arm, gets mad and pulls out her machine gun, chasing after Last Order and firing bullets.

At some point she calls the apartment to inform her little family that she is playing tag, but requests that they make her dinner. This angers Accelerator, who almost smashes the phone to pieces.

Last Order manages to evade 10032 and rejoins Touma, where she explains to him her position as the "console" of the Misaka Network. He tries to help her put the goggles on, but keeps snapping her in the forehead so she kicks him (in the novels at least). Eventually, he gets it on and she twirls in delight. She then thanks him for giving the clones a new outlook on life, and also mentions that she thinks Accelerator is weak, but kind-hearted. She doesn't refer to Accelerator by name, though, and Touma agrees that her friend must be a good guy deep down. Last Order is saddened that she has to part from Touma, but knows Accelerator is out looking for her. (He is, and he had ran into Index, Touma's charge, along the way.)

She returns to Accelerator, announcing that she's back, and he thwaps her on the head repeatedly while she cries crocodile tears. When asked what she was up to, she replies, "Playing!" which earns an angry scowl. Nevertheless, they walk out of the mall together and into the rain. Last Order tries to dance and sing, twirling all around a bored Accelerator, and eventually trips and falls. With tears in her eyes, she informs him she's fallen and skinned her needs, requiring medical assistance. He scoffs at her and tells her to throw some spit onto them and hurry up.

Last Order reluctantly stands up, telling him she'll just bite down the pain, and follows after him wordlessly. He finally pushes her into a bench and tells her to wait while he goes over to the nearest convenience store to buy her cutely decorated band-aids. He questions his right to have a peaceful lifestyle like this and walks out.

Meanwhile Last Order has been kidnapped. (BIG SURPRISE THERE.) Kihara's men try to kill Accelerator by running into him with a van, but he deflects it with his power. After getting the shit beat out of him by Kihara (former scientist who has known Accelerator for what is implied to be a while), he notices Last Order hanging limply in the firm hands of two henchmen. He calls out to her and she moves her head, enough reason for him to believe she is alive. He sends a strong wind her way, knocking her out of their hands and into the sky.

She falls down a couple hundred feet away or so into Touma's chest. Crying profusely, she begs Touma to help Accelerator, as she fears he may be killed if nobody goes to save him. Touma doesn't understand, but agrees and she leads him to where she last saw Accelerator. Only to find that the place is deserted. She looks confused, but then quickly tells him to hide behind an overturned van as enemies suddenly appear. The two then go off to secretly find where Accelerator is.

Last Order uses her power for the first time, picking a door open with her electricity. They enter a building where everyone is lying on the floor, unconscious. Suddenly bullets smash open the glass windows and an antagonist reveals herself, battling Touma who tells Last Order to run. She leaves her cell phone behind on accident, which Touma uses once the villain suddenly retreats to call every contact, finally getting a response from Accelerator, who basically tells him to back off and let him handle it.

It turns out Kihara has captured her yet again, and this time she is knocked out cold. He leaves a piece of her clothing for Accelerator to find and lures him inside. Kakine tests out the Testament virus he has on Last Order, implanting it in her brain. While she's unconscious, Accelerator dukes it out with Kihara and Index (the nun girl who follows Touma around) sticks her head in again. She ignores the fighting and goes over to Last Order, using magic in the form of a prayer/song to heal her.

Things not directly related to Last Order happens. Basically, Accelerator wins, having suddenly gained black wings, but since he trashed the city and even tore down a building, he owes the city a huge fucking debt. He is given the option to join GROUP, an organization that takes care of Academy City and occasionally delves into illegal actions. Everybody in GROUP was blackmailed into joining so that they could protect something/someone they love.

Last Order knows nothing about GROUP, only that Accelerator has a lot of work to do and can no longer spend a lot of time with her. When she checks out of the hospital (even giving the taxi driver the address to the amusement park, which the doctor firmly corrects and tells the driver to take her to the apartment), Accelerator waits for her to be out of sight before he approaches the doctor about the choker around his neck. The doctor informs him that she had been waiting all that time to see him, but he disregards it and threatens him with a gun.

Even in the taxi, Last Order continues to protest. The taxi finally has to stop as she furiously demands to be allowed to go to the amusement park, much to the driver's dismay. Yomikawa had paid 2000 yen for a 150 yen taxi fare, just to make sure she got home safely. Instead, Last Order leaps out and runs for her life, while the driver is conflicted about the high tip. A school girl named Uiharu who is part of Judgment, Academy City's disciplinary committee, approaches the taxi driver and offers to retrieve her. She calls out to her, calling her "Ahoge-chan" based on the strip of hair that stands straight up on her head (ahoge in anime are typically used to denote a dumb character) and Last Order immediately reveals her position, getting caught by Uiharu quite effortlessly.

Last Order manages to convince Uiharu that she is looking for a "lost child" (i.e., Accelerator) and tells her that the tingling sensation in her head means he is nearby. Accelerator, on a mission, hides from her as she drifts through the crowd. Uiharu comments that her ahoge must be very special, to which Last Order screams that it is not an ahoge, causing Accelerator to facepalm.

The two go over to the train station and Uiharu hands her the extra taxi fare, intending to hand her over to Anti-Skill. Last Order slips from the Anti-Skill, staying with Uiharu to witness the train. Irritatedly, she asks why it's taking so long to come and wonders if she'll ever find Accelerator. Uiharu offers her a hibiscus from her hair for good luck, and Last Order continues to chatter on about how a flower can possibly have a meaning. They retire to a cafe and Last Order collapses on the table, exhausted. She barely has the energy to retort when Uiharu comments on how intensely the hair standing on her head is waving in the wind, as if picking up a radio signal.

Suddenly, she sees the fast food shop and has a great urge to go there. She first tries to get Uiharu to pay for her, but upon being reminded that she has the taxi fare, flees to buy herself food. In her wake, a teen named Kakine Teitoku approaches Uiharu about Last Order's whereabouts. Uiharu lies, saying she hasn't seen Last Order, and he proceeds to kick her to the ground and pops her shoulder out of place, kicking and stepping on her until she fesses up. The girl refuses, even taunting him by sticking her tongue out, and Accelerator stops him from stepping on her face.

Eventually, Accelerator goes in berserk mode when Kakine shoots down Yomikawa, who tries to stop Accelerator from killing anybody. While everybody cowers in fear, Last Order shows up. Completely fearless, she runs through the crowd and goes up to the screaming Accelerator, the "lost child" she had been looking for. She tells him, "I found you" and Accelerator's black wings come crashing down on her, stopping just before they hit her. Since Last Order trusts Accelerator would never hurt her, she extends her arms and tells him to stop, and that he "doesn't have to do this anymore". He continues to throw blows at her, never hurting her, until finally they grow to the largest they have ever been, swing down, and disappear. He falls into Last Order's waiting arms, and she whispers softly in his ear, "what a relief".

He periodically checks up on her by calling her, and she eagerly tells him about her day, asking when he'll come by to visit her and telling him not to do anything dangerous. He lies and says he's just doing paperwork, and that he'll be there when the weekend comes to spend some more time with her.

A WHOLE LOT OF SHIT HAPPENS. There's an underground battle and Accelerator encounters Aiwass. Last Order suddenly falls ill, and Accelerator takes her to Russia to find a cure. In Russia, the Third World War is being fought. It is there that it is revealed a new stronger (i.e., level 4 out of 5) line of Misaka clones have been made in order to kill Last Order, who is now obsolete. These Misaka clones look older, roughly 17-18 years of age, have orange pupils and wild hair, and are sinister to the core. They are labeled the Misaka WORST clones, and feed off of the negative energy produced by the other clones.

Misaka WORST has had metal shoved into her body to keep her from being under Last Order's command. She taunts and traumatizes Accelerator, who is reluctant to harm a Misaka clone, claiming that the Sisters hate him and Last Order doesn't really care about him. Unfortunately for her, she finally gets him to go berserk and he bashes her arm in, breaking it. Meanwhile, Last Order can barely keep up her breathing. She is slowly dying, which causes Accelerator to have a mental breakdown. He ends up having a bitchout with Touma, who he secretly envies, and Touma uses his Imagine Breaker to stabilize Last Order temporarily.

Eventually Accelerator has the bright idea to sing the same song that Index had sung, even though it is a magic spell. With Misaka WORST's help, he analyzes then sings the song. The magic inflicts pain on him, since magic is the opposite of esper abilities. Last Order wakes up and asks what's going on. Overjoyed, Accelerator pulls her into a hug and thanks God, who he had prayed to, begging him to save the only hope he had.

In the sky, a battle between the bad guys is going on. Accelerator fully awakens (white angel wings and all) and parts from a teary eyed Last Order, ascending into the sky. He dukes it out there, plummeting to the ground afterwards and being rescued by a helicopter, where he only has thoughts of Last Order and Misaka WORST.

Later, Accelerator, Misaka WORST, and Last Order live together with Yomikawa, Yoshikawa frequenting the apartment. Last Order loses at a video games, throws a jealous rage at WORST's breasts, tries to forcibly grow her boobs, and tries to tag along with Accelerator when he is sent off to buy groceries. When WORST goes instead, she mopes around the apartment before finally sneaking out to go find Accelerator.

So you don't want to read my extended summary?! Or maybe you have, and want to see what all that crap means. Okay, here's a bullet point list of what has affected Last Order during her canon update:

❀ She has used her electricity skills once to pick an electric lock.
❀ She can track people down (somewhat poorly) by tracking their electromagnetic signature in the air.
❀ When she gets sick from a virus, magic cures her.
    ❀ She wants boobies.
❀ Despite being a child, when she trusts someone, she can fearlessly confront them even at the risk of certain death.
❀ She still loves fast food.
❀ After getting into jealous fits with Misaka WORST, she's probably more likely to understand the point of rivalries now (even though they always get resolved in her case).

See? Not a lot happened to her personality, just some events which make the reader realize how capable she is at acting like the beacon of light. She's still an immature brat, even if she has her moments of maturity.
