This time would be the shots at hat-specialized shop. Then we continuously gave Uchi a lot of questions which he had to choose one between two things. We checked speedily what he would choose and unexpected tastes or thoughts came up. He also talked his frank thought about his leading role for the first time in butai “Guys and Dolls”
Q: Do you feel you’re 23 already or you’re just 23?
A: 23 already! I myself don’t have a feeling that I’m 23 years old. I still sense that I’m about 13 years old. My mental age is as same as a first-year high-school student’s (laugh)
Mental age: It is an intelligence test score, expressed as the chronological age for which a given level of performance is average or typical.
Q: Western-style meal and Japanese-style meal, if you have to choose, which one do you take?
A: Japanese-style meal! It’s awesome to beat the eggs into rice with natto, and have miso soup and salmon and tsukemono. If you only eat one type on your whole life, you’ll feel very annoyed. But in case of Japanese-style meal, it won’t happen. I like fish, especially Kansai- style grilled fish!

Q: Meat and fish, which one will you choose as main food?
A: It depends on day. But one thing I can feel is that I would absolutely choose meat when I was around 10 years old, while at present I often take fish. Being around 20, you can’t go follow something stably and quickly (laugh).
Q: The future and the past, if you could go to one thing, which one would you choose?
A: The future. It’ll be the age when cars fly on the sky. The past is particularly good already!
Q: Summer and winter, which one do you like more?
A: Summer! I can’t stand the coldness of the winter. I also hate the snow, and when the snow’s piled up, I think “What can I do now?”. Whereas, the summer is very enjoyable. You can make barbecue as well as wear thin clothes. Despite of the hot weather, you’re still in high spirits and feel refreshing.
Q: Taking photograph and being taken photograph, which one do you like more?
A: I don’t like being taken photograph much. When I’m told to smile, I can’t smile. Though there’s nothing interesting, until now I still have to often meet with such difficulty. I think someone who can smile anytime is great. Like Tegoshi (laugh).
Q: The smile and the tear of a girl, which one do you think is more tender?
A: (lower his voice)… the tear! I also love the smiling face, but I think the tear is tenderer. But it will be a big trouble if I’m the person who made her cry (laugh). However, if I don’t know the reason why she cries, I will be impatient: “What, what, what happened to you?” (laugh) ( the original sentence is “Dododododoushitan?”^_^) . Then, depending on the kind of tears, it can impact on my emotion if they’re sad tears.
Q: If you had the capability to change your gender when you were born, what would you choose? Male or female?
A: (immediate reply) Male. If I were a girl, at first I feel the make-up is troublesome. Moreover, the girls have to care about their smartly-dressed image. Whereas I can’t run after the latest trends in fashion. Anytime I think about it, I feel that being a boy is more comfortable. Being a girl is so hard, then I always think they’re admirable!
Q: Cute one and beautiful one, which one do you like more?
A: Cute one, because I like the girl who have attractiveness. The girl who always laughs without inhibition instead of smiling slightly is great. Though I know the hairstyle should suit that person, I still like black hair most.
Q: Sea and mountain, which one do you like more?
A: Sea! Being able to see it also makes me glad. I especially like the sea in Wakayama. Whereas climbing up a mountain is really tiresome, and there’re a lot of insects there, aren’t there? (laugh)
Q: When travelling, you like inland or abroad?
A: Abroad, and it’ll be Hawaii! When my work is completed the first stage, I will go to Hawaii, play golf, go to the beach to relax.
Q: Blue sky and starry sky, at this time which one do you want?
A: I want to see a starry sky, and stars on the whole sky. Now, I also spontaneously want to see (laugh).
Q: Being in the universe and being in the sea, which one attracts you more?
A: Great question! About this question, I love both and I really can’t make a choice!
Q: Enthusiasm and composure, which one is your forte?
A: Enthusiasm! Because when I focus on one thing, it seems that I can’t see anything around me.

About butai “Guys and Dolls” (In Creation Theatre, to 30th April), I have reached the “Scary” stage - only got this feeling! (collecting data in the middle of March). My lines are really difficult, and I’m just at the beginning of the practice. I’m full of anxiousness; don’t know where I should start. To me, this butai looks like the jet coaster. When it’s over, I don’t know if I will “So happy” or “So scared”. But I think after the opening day, I will not have it in remembrance like an absent-minded man (laugh).
