Its been a while since I last updated but I've really had nothing to update on.
Ekklesia was awesome! I met so many awesome brothers from other campuses and even reunited with some of the guys I partied with at Academy. No specific stories except a lot of late night drinking and trips to hooters. We did see KORN though at hooters but they left before we could do anything.
I came back and worked 3 days and my last day in retail was the 19th. Then I went to Brotherhood Retreat. I had so much fun there cause it was the first time in 2 months that I've seen everyone. We got some great plans together for rush and had fun at the same time. A bunch of us went to Cafe Risque and that was the first time for me going there. It was weird. I can only describe it as Dennys with naked women dancing on the bar.
So school started on the 23rd and my schedule is great this semester. 14 credit hours, 2 of which are bowling but I've always wanted to take that class. Big Show is taking it with me too so that should be fun. I only have 1 class a day and no class on Friday. The reason for that is one class is online and the other "meets" once a week but you only come if you need help. (College Algebra) I don't see any reason that I can't get A's and B's this semester.
I got transfered to the Host Department and over the next 2 weeks I'll be working on and off starting my training. I'll start back more steadily on Sunday the 12th once rush is over.
Rush is turning into a minor nightmare. First off, we don't know if Lake Claire will be open during rush so we might have to rush on the streets of Greek Park. They're working hard to clear the debris but we won't know anything definite until as late as the day before rush begins. We are trying to get sorority lawn space but I doubt it.
Also, IFC is all of a sudden deciding to enforce the "Good Taste Clause" of the IFC constitution and our shirt has been deemed inappropriate. We are fighting hard but as it stands right now that shirt is off limits.
If you wanna see it just let me know and I'll send it to you.
Also, theres a company who manages the stilt walkers at Margaritaville (MGV) and the people at the Magic halftime shows who throw t-shirts etc. Well I sent in an audition tape on the 16th and the live auditions were on the 20th (I couldn't make them because of B-hood retreat) They called me the next day and told me they had it and would contact me after they watched it.
Anywhoo, I hadn't heard anything so I called yesterday and they called me back saying that they had just found it and watched it and they thought it was "very impressive" and that I was "very funny". I've been invited back for a group interview (date and time TBA) but the interview will be improv games and stuff like that....I'll do awesome (knock on wood) YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There aren't enough (!) to express the excitement I feel! This job would be so awesome for me because it involves performance and its freelance which means I can take and turn down work as I choose. This would mean I could still work at MGV and make some good money. (Pay for those stilt walkers is $25/hr)
HUGE thanks to Adam LaPrade, Big Show and Jason Schwartz for all the time they put into this video. There were some rough times but everything worked out for the best and I thank you.
Homecoming Exec is going fine. We have the first org. meeting with all the organizations reps this tuesday and I have to speak about skit knight. I'm very excited.
So thats whats been goin on
If you pray please say a couple for me:
~This job with Sports Magic
