Tis been forever since I have updated, I know.
Just finished the third week of work, and camp is going very well. It's a good thing F group has fewer lessons than any of the other groups, as I've already started to run out of stuff to teach them: We've covered freestyle w/ sidebreathing and proper arm technique, backstroke, and breaststroke kick, and elementary backstroke arms, as well as flip turns and treading water. Next week we finish up breaststroke and elementary backstroke. Other classes are going well too. My class sizes are around 15, instead of 30 like last year, totally manageable. And with class sizes halved, they're learning at twice the rate. Class run smoother, and there's more time for one-on-one. Also, the swimming assistant actually knows how to swim this year, which is a huge help. I have this one student, Edith, who made almost no progress last year, and this year she's really doing well. So, work is excellent.
I've also gotten bvack into hapkido, which is coming back to me with suprising ease after 9 months of not doing it.
Celia and I are going to start taking ballroom (latin) technique classes at spotlight in sacramento, anyone want to join? It's teusdays at 7:30 p.m.
Summer is going well.
