Wow, it's been a while since I last updated. I've got to start doing this thing regularly, it's important to keep track of all of this stuff that's happening.

Since my last entry I've switched locations for my job. I now work at a slightly busier store, so I am making a little more money on the side - while it's nicer to have actual disposable income, my main goal is to save as much as possible so when the loan companies come a-knockin', I can comfortably afford to pay them back. In addition, I've gotten stuck in on a lot of immigration paperwork. blahblah borin' stuff!

In much more interesting news...! I might have a mini-comic coming out soon. I completely forgot that I completed a small one-shot comic for my illustration class. Once I get everything organized, I'll start printing them off and sell them online, for around 5 bucks (shipping included). Does that sound good to everyone? I can hand then out at cons and also trade with other artists. I'm really excited!

I also found an art gallery very close to me, within the vicinity of several blocks. I popped in there with my friend and I asked the guy about gallery space (he can offer up the entire space for $200 dollars)... if I split it with my friend, that's a pretty fresh deal. They also sell painted on hats and shoes, which is something I've been wanting to get into. After we exchanged contacts 'n' contracts, he gave me some comics that he had lying around.

I got volume 3 and 4 of Nausicaa out of the bottom of the pile, and also this amusing "How To Draw The Human Body" book, dated 1963. I haven't read through what I got from him, but from what I saw the art out of these is incredible. The hatching!

I've also been making a list of artists I like, here, I'll even share 'em with you!

www.johnnyr.com Johnny Ryan is the author of Angry Youth Comix, which has some nasty, tasteless, disgusting humour. I love this stuff!
www.eliohouse.com Elio has a small comic up for sale, and he also does animated segments on Yo Gabba Gabba. I haven't seen the animated segments - but I really enjoy his simple, limited-colour illustrations and comics.
www.sugarboukas.com This is actually 3 artists. Rebecca Sugar, Stephen Sugar, and Frans Boukas. They all draw comics, each their own different flavour. Try them all!
www.neo-rama.com Lamar Abrams! He's got some great illustrations up here, and he's also got a very cool comic that he's done all by himself, REMAKE. It recently got a publisher by the name of adhouse.

If you have a couple of dollars laying around, I highly recommend that you spend your hard earned money on some damn art. Independant comics!
