This was absolutely amazing, I was completely blown away by the emotional intensity and you absolutely nailed the characters, especially Lady Dedlock.

The ending was wonderful after everything they had been through and it made my day. Lady Dedlock has such a terrible time of it in Bleak House (not including actual death) that it was nice to see her in such a different light being able to actually feel emotions and be in love with someone like that ;-)

Thanks for giving her an alternative happy ending!

Although I had no prior knowledge of my beta’ing fandom, reading and working with this story quickly hooked me. I love your characterization, attention to detail, and dialogue of all of Dickens’ characters, but especially Lady Dedlock - a woman whom upon first introduction piques all senses. Her gradual evolution throughout “Before We Turn to Stone” was cunningly crafted and intriguing to witness. I enjoyed seeing Rosa crack LD’s stony veneer bit by bit--and what happens next between the mistress and her maid is nothing short of delicious ( ... )
