Author's Note: I kinda really love Robin and Katherine and have wanted to write fic about them since the storyline began, and this was the first thing that popped into my head. (Well, maybe not the first...the first thing was really smutty). I hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think!

Katherine Mayfair had always felt that everything deserved a name or a label. She named her pets, her first car (Penelope), and even assigned nicknames to her loved ones. She labeled the mason jars that she filled with homemade jams, Dylan’s belongings when she went to summer camp as a child, and the vegetables and flowers she planted in her garden. Naming things made her feel at peace; everything that had a name had a place.
It was no surprise to Katherine that she felt out of sorts by her inability to label herself. She’d always categorized herself as a straight woman. Heterosexuality was like a comfortable sweater that never stained or shrunk in the wash. It simply was, and she felt as though she and the label belonged together.
Now, Katherine wasn’t so sure if the sweater fit so well. She’d never really noticed the holes until she met Robin.
Katherine hated not being able to define herself. It made her feel disconnected and confused. Was she gay now? Had that suddenly happened, or had she always been gay? Could she still wear her sweater, or would she have to replace it with plaid flannel?
It was so easy for Robin to name herself as a lesbian. Katherine was jealous of that assuredness; she’d been that sure once, and it had flown out the window. She wondered how long it would take before she knew exactly where she belonged.
It occurred to Katherine that maybe she was overthinking this whole thing; sweaters and flannel and names and labels didn’t seem to be getting her anywhere. Robin, on the other hand, was getting her somewhere surprisingly close to an orgasm, and Katherine decided that it didn’t matter so much that the sweater didn’t fit anymore. Maybe it was a little too heavy and suffocating. Maybe it was about time for a change of clothes.
