Author's Note: Uh, so, I got a little emotional while writing this. I hope it's readable, and I hope I managed to catch the voices of the characters. I know this is one of the more obscure Meryl films, but everyone should check it out. It's one of my favorites. And hey, if you need more incentive, check out this

She doesn't deserve this.
The notion flashes repeatedly through her mind and even as Frank's mouth is everywhere and awakens parts of her body that have been asleep for years she can only think of one thing.
She doesn't deserve to feel so much happiness or so much pleasure.
Molly's heart feels like it's pounding out of her chest. She almost hopes that it will. If it does, she'll just pick it up and give it to Frank.
It's the only part of herself that she can give him.
"I'm sorry," she says, hugging him close to her. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
She has to sit up, to steal a few inches away from him. Lying beneath him, she can feel his hardness pressed against her stomach. She can feel his own heart thudding in his chest, answering the call of her own.
She can tell that he's aching for her, just as much as she's aching for him.
If she doesn't move away now, she's not sure she'll have the resolve to stop it from happening.
"I'm sorry," she whispers, sitting up. He wraps an arm around her waist and rests his head against her back. "I can't…"
He kisses the middle of her back and she feels it throughout her whole body.
She wants him more than she's ever wanted anyone, even her own husband, even her first boyfriend, and she can't bring herself to be with him.
Molly has to commit to this decision. She can't give to him what she's already promised to someone else. She's already fallen in love with Frank. What she feels for Brian is different. It's changed, disintegrated over the years, and Frank…
Frank makes her feel alive.
She can't give that up and she won't, even if she knows in the back of her mind that loving him is so much worse than sleeping with him.
But she can make it so that she doesn't hate herself for betraying her husband in every possible way.
Neither of them are free to love each other. Against all odds, all hopes, all plans, they've fallen together as if they belong.
There's no doubt in Molly's mind that they belong together. She's sure of it as much as she's sure that the sky is blue. The color of the sky will never change, and neither will her heart.
"I'm so sorry, Frank," she whispers again.
"It's okay. I…know. I know."
She wants to say more. She wants to explain that she wants him. She wants him to understand that her body is alight with passion reserved solely for him. She needs him to know that she wants him, and only him, but her vows have imprisoned her.
"It's okay if this doesn't happen."
"It can't."
There's a long moment of silence and though he's still fused to her, she feels that the chasm is wider than a mile.
"What if we never get the chance?" he asks.
Molly's breath hitches in her throat. She winds her arm along his and entwines her fingers with his.
"I'm okay with that. I'm okay with it as long as we don't have to hate ourselves more than we already do."
"I love you," Frank says.
Molly turns and looks at him, her palm resting against the shadow of his beard. She smiles sadly. "I love you too."
He nods and rests his head on her lap. He curls his arms around her waist again and hugs her as if it's the last time.
Maybe it is.
She runs her fingers through his hair. "I have to believe that there may be a time when this can happen. I have to…for my sake."
He squeezes her tighter. She leans and kisses his shoulder before resting her head there. The slow rise and fall of his chest is comforting, and Molly allows herself to focus solely on the fact of him before they have to return to their separate lives.
