I really enjoyed this drabble. I think your dialogue is spot-on for the characters, and you managed to capture Sister James' insecurity so well. I really loved the way Aloysius was aware of Sister James and thought enough to bring her dinner - like she *knew* how it'd be.
thank you so much for reading and for commenting. i'm glad you enjoyed it. i was really worried about getting the characters right, so i'm glad that i could pull it off.
Oh, I love it! Thank you so, so much. I've been having a kind of crappy day, and this cheered me up.
I think you painted Sister Aloysius with a really great blend of kindness and snippiness, and Sister James was earnest without losing all semblance of a personality. Thanks again! I'm thrilled that you wrote for one of my prompts already, and I'm looking forward to finding out what you do with the others.
yay for helping to cheer up crappy days! to be honest, i'd been having a crappy day as well, and writing this helped improve my mood immensely. :)
i'm soooo glad that you liked it...i had been so nervous about getting the characters right, and it's a relief to know that you think i did a decent job of it.
I love that you can pin a character down and force it to expel words of your own creation - yet they are entirely in character. I like how you gave Sister A her usual attitude, the boldness we saw in the movie exuded from the character as soon as she entered the room with Sister J's tray.
This is a delicious fic and a small glimpse at these two wonderful characters. :)
thank you so much :) i'm really glad that you liked it. i was trying to capture sister aloysius as having that harshness about her, while at the same time obviously having a sort of a soft side where sister james is concerned. i really like that about her character in the movie - she's so complex and makes for a really dynamic character to watch.
thank you for commenting...it always means so much!
