So the first film of the Edinburgh Film Festival and this year I'm determined to try and give a little review of the films before some time in the next year, so hopefully this will be the first post on films in a series over the next few days.
Blood Car
http://www.edfilmfest.org.uk/films/blood-car/ The plot is nice and simple; oil prices have risen to the point that no-one but the very rich can afford to drive and thus it's a big status symbol. Our hero is a vegan who is attempting to devise a way to fuel an engine with wheatgrass, an accident in his lab leads him to discover that blood will drive the engine and this leads onto vegans gone bad as the power of sex compels him to find new sources of blood.
Ignore the political tropes of blood for oil the director wasn't really aiming for that, sure you can read in all kinds of messages but the film is basically a laugh fest, don't watch if you are easily offended, otherwise if you like Troma style films then you'll like this.
