I live in a state where registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans by a margin of slightly less then 2.5:1. Its safe to say Maryland leans left to moderate. While to our East Delaware leans moderate to left.
Yesterday both states held their primaries. For the most part it was a predictable yawnfest here in Maryland. On the other hand in Delaware the Tea Party endorsed candidate for the US Senate beat the Republican Establishment candidate.
How cool is that? And why? Well its very cool because the Tea Party candidate has NO chance to win in Delaware’s General Election this November. Her name is Christine O’Donnell, she’s too far to the right to win here in the Northeast and yours truly wants the Dems to maintain control of the Senate*. The Republican National Committee has already stated they will not contribute any money to Ms. O’Donnell’s campaign.
Its also cool because I want the current incarnation of the Republican majority out of office. Those Bush/Rove Republicans have got to go. Getting to laugh at Rove distress is, in my book, a bonus!

* - On the other hand I do want the Republicans to win the house so long as this President is in office. A Republican controlled house would force real compromise, instead of the lip service we see today and force the Republicans to take some ownership of what’s going on in Washington. They won’t be able to get away with just sitting on their hands.
