So, I'm back with my mom visiting Japan. And I found out what her new system is.
Okay. I found out she has a Windows Vista Home Premium system - 64 bit. She has more power in her system than I do. 64 bit. My god, what can she possibly do with all that power?
Fortunately for me, it won't be much. She likes taking pictures, and movies from her digital camera. She also goes to school and works from home. That's about it. Plus side, it now has multi-lingual capabilities, so she can write in both Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji and English. Her previous system couldn't do that. But then, she has Windows 98.
But she still wants me to troubleshoot it. Which is swell, except I don't have Vista. At all. None of my machines run Vista - I still have XP. The only machine that could possibly run Vista is my Macbook, and I'm not sure if I'd want to do that because I don't have that much hard drive space.
I will admit Vista is pretty. The popup icons when you pause over the windows in the taskbar are very helpful.
