HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I usually answer one of these each year and I thought why not compare from the previous year.
Happy New Year!
What did you do this year that you'd never done before?
2008: A lot of things I'd rather keep secret. Hahaha. But for the sake of answering, I'd say work-related travel, and travelling somewhere all by myself.
2009: A lot of things! Big rocks like Bungee Jumping in Macau, co-producing a musical play and getting a new hairstyle. Then some small rocks such as getting a pet and singing in front of a crowd of strangers. This year has definitely been an adventure!
Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
2008: I was never a believer of new year's resolutions. But this 2009, I made myself 13 which I plan to stick to. Right? Right? Riiight.
2009: I terribly failed in my new year's resolutions so I'm just going to carry them over this year. Hehe.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
2008: Sharine's second baby boy and Cams's first born!
2009: None this year, a lot of weddings though.
Did anyone close to you die?
2008: A few relatives, and relatives of close friends.
2009: None that I remember.
What places did you go to for vacation?
2008: Did a lot of local traveling this year. Baguio, Vigan, Laoag, Pagudpud, Corregidor, Boracay three times this year... uhh, Tagaytay and.. Fairview? Haha. Then work-related trips to Guangzhou and Dongguan in China with vacations in Hong Kong on the side.
2009: Less but bigger travels this year - Hong Kong, Macau, Bohol and Baguio top my list, plus alone in Guangzhou and Hong Kong on August for work. Then some quick trips to Tagaytay and Batangas by default.
What would you like to have this year that you lacked last year?
2008: Financial responsibility, wellness, and a plus one!
2009: Ditto.
What date from this year will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
2008: There are a lot so I'll just pick one at random. Perhaps December 6 - Spiral Christmas Dinner with the Best!
2009: Top of mind, it's gotta be the Spelling Bee! By coincidence, it's also on December 6!
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
2008: Buying my own car
2009: Quite a good year career wise! Yeah!
What was your biggest failure?
2008: Work-life balance. I don't think I need to explain.
2009: Took for granted a lot of relationships and was not exactly an equally good friend to a lot of people. Budget management comes in at a close second.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
2008: Nothing major apart from the occasional flu (like now!!!)
2009: Same, nothing major except from fevers that came only twice this year. Yes, I'm a healthy boy.
What was the best thing you bought?
2008: Best because it was a good deal would be a tie between the Ford Everest and the Sony and Olympus Digicams from HK.
2009: Cheap plane tickets for 2010 vacations! WOOHOO!
Whose behavior merited celebration?
2008: Yanie simply for putting up with my lack of time, Irvin for trying out new things (like parasailing and Fly Fish!), Jazzie for being sweet and LM the entire year, Cha for being always on the go.
2009: I'd still say the same people for this year. Yanie for the tough times, and Irvin + Cha + Jazzie for all the cool stuff we did this year.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
2008: "Grumpy"
2009: Mine. Agarhgahg.
Where did most of your money go?
2008: Food and clothes. And a lot of unnecessary purchases.
2009: Food and drinks and clothes and travel. And still a lot of unnecessary purchases. Fail.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
2008: Boracay on all three times, and my first salary increase. HAHA.
2009: Bunjee Jumping (and the entire HK-Macau trip) and the Spelling Bee!!
What song(s) will always remind you of this year?
2008: Green light by John Legend, Closer by Neyo, In the Ayer by Flo Rida and Will I Am, and of course Forever by Chris Brown. Ever ever ever.

iii. richer or poorer? - "Richer" but I have a lot of credit card debts to pay.
What do you wish you'd done more?
2008: Wish I had watched more TV, handled work more effectively, tried out a lot more new stuff, met more people, hung out more with certain friends (Yanie! I still owe you bigtime)
2009: Wish I was more of a better friend, saved up more, dressed up more, exercised more often, and maybe developed a new hobby.
What do you wish you'd done less of?
2008: Work on weekends. Spend on unnecessary things.
2009: Probably still the same stuff from last year, plus less emosphere!
How many one-night stands?
2008: I am twelve years old.

What was your favorite TV program?
2008: Didn't get to watch a lot of TV this year. But I tried to keep up with ‘How I met your Mother,’ ‘Ugly Betty,’ ‘Heroes,’ and 'Chuck'
2009: HIMYM!
Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
2008: I don't feel hate that often, so I guess none.
2009: Same, I'm not much of a hater, so I don't really have an answer.
What was the best book you read?
2008: I didn't read any books at all this year hahaha.
2009: ZERO. Hehehe.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
2008: Norwegian Recycling!
2009: The Ting Tings, Kings of Leon!
What did you want and get?
2008: Be sent on a business trip, more clothes, a car, and an awesome relationship with friends at work.
2009: Tried out more new stuff, met more people, got good results at work!
What was your favorite film of this year?
2008: Shutter hehehe.
2009: Transformers 2!
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
2008: Redbox with office friends. Dinner date with Yanie. Dinnuman with other friends. I turned 23!
2009: Turned 24 and treated my family to Circles, yum.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
2008: More out of town trips with friends, newer things to try out on weekends, and LESS WORK!
2009: More trips/travels!
How would you describe your personal fashion concept this year?
2008: Maybe in 2008, I bought more polos than shirts. I've always been vanilla at everything. Shirt, jeans, sneaker boy.
2009: I learned how to appreciate shorts despite the fact that it makes me look shorter!
What kept you sane?
2008: Facebook. HAHAHA. No seriously, my family.
2009: FACEBOOK!!!
What political issue stirred you the most?
2008: Rising oil prices kamonnn.
2009: Hayden Kho hahahaha. No, the Maguindanao Massacre is shittttt.
Who did you miss?
2008: DCID folks and the Ilocoholics.
2009: Definitely DCID who I barely saw this year.
Who is the best new person you met this year?
2008: MYSELF haha. So cliche, but so true.
2009: For me to know and for you to find out!

2008: You only get what you deserve.
2009: Make the most of what comes and the least of what goes.
What was the nicest thing someone told you about yourself:
2008: "Overall, Mico is the best IDS resource I worked with." -- from someone I totally didn't expect to say it.
2009: "Mico, ang payat mo na!!! / Good job on the war on fat!" (especially when I know they meant it and I know I've gained weight hahaha)
The most touching experience you've had this year?
2008: Those usual family dinners where we talk about the family's problems. My mom cried once and I knew it was definitely serious.
2009: Unexpected senti texts from my mom.
What did you like most about yourself this year?
2008: I was more independent.
2009: I was happier!!!
What did you hate most about yourself this year?
2008: I was more indifferent.
2009: I took a lot of people for granted.

Was this year a good year for you?
2008: I think so. 2008 didn't give me a lot of changes but it was definitely a year of blessings. Steady for the most part, but generally, 2008 was good. I think I'm being Mister Sunshine now, but I'm expecting 2009 to be way way better.
2009: ABSOLUTELY. but I expect 2010 to be kickass better!
What was your favorite moment of the year?
2008: Almost being left by the plane in Guangzhou HAHAHAHA.
2009: Being poor in HK left with only 100 HKD and credit cards were all maxed out.
What was your least favorite moment of the year?
2008: March and September. Work/stress related.
2009: October when I was transitioning to a new role at work.
Where will you be when the year ends?
2008: At home in Tahanan

Who will you be with when the year ends?
2008: the Geronimos.

Do you have a new year’s resolution for next year?
2008: Quite a long list so I'll just post it separately.
2009: Carrying over my last year's PLUS my list of 25 things to do before 25!
How many concerts did you see this year?
2008: ZEROWW. I was too kuripot for Chris Brown.
2009: Love to Love to Love, Lea Salonga, and even Sarah Geronimo! HAHA.
Did you drink a lot of alcohol this year?
2008: Definitely.
2009: Oh boy. Oh boy!
Do a lot of drugs this year?
2008: I told you I am twelve years old.
2009: I told you I am twelve years old.
You do anything you are ashamed of this year?
2008: Not much. A couple of things comes to mind but basically no regrets.
2009: Flaked on a lot of people :S
How much money did you spend this year?
2008: I don't even want to talk about it.
2009: Just think of it this way, my credit crunch lasted from January to December!
What was your proudest moment this year?
2008: My manager telling me she hasn't seen a salary increase like that for the longest time. Being regarded as an "expert" in my team. Although there's so much MORE to learn.
2009: Auto-AP, both the May disaster and the September cutover haha!
What was your most embarrassing moment this year?
2008: Getting rejecteddd.
2009: Getting asked for an ID in Distillery, come on!!!!!!
If you could go back in time to any moment this year and change something, what would it be?
2008: None in 2008. Can I go back to 2002? LOL!
2009: There should be something, but I couldn't think of any right now.
What are your plans for next year?
2008: 2009's gonna be a good year! Too many things I want to do to list here, but net, I know this is going to be one rockin year.
2009: Time to stop being steady!!! I'm losing myself in the crowd already! 2010's gonna be GREAAAAAAAAT!!
How are you different now that the year has ended?
2008: I think I've become more mature. I know the things that I want and I try to put a plan in place so I could have it.
2009: I know what I find wrong and I'm trying to work on changing that.
What are your wishes for the New Year?
2008: Good health and success for myself and everyone else reading this (so if you didn't read it, sorry ka na lang haha). Recovery and stability for my dad and "recovery" as well for my family.
