On April 20th, a few friends (Justin, Paul, Jen, and myself) went to see
Mates of State at a local bar. Their music is amazing, especially considering that it is coming from only two people. The girl plays keyboard (usually set to organ) and the guy plays drums. They both sing. We started out near the back...
...and slowly worked our way forward... Here, he's singing "These Days". Hopefully next time I'll remember to bring my real camera. They'll be back for
Bumbershoot later in the summer.
The next weekend we went salsa dancing at Century ballroom. Below, Kara helps Jen put a flower in her hair. The salsa lessons I've been taking must have paid off. I only rammed Kara into random other people half of the time.
For my coworkers birthday, we went to an all you can eat sushi buffet. The food wasn't that good, but I saw a 16 x 9 pan full of wasabi. That was the most wasabi I've ever seen in my entire life. They also had an odd statue-ish thing my coworker Ryan stood next to:
We had another barbeque back on the 23rd of April. We picked up fresh salmon from the
Pike Place Market. The jokers at the fish stand always mess with the tourists. They'll throw fish back and forth. Then, they'll throw a fake fish at some unsuspecting tourist who thinks a 3 foot salmon is coming their way.
