Well it's official. I'll be doing the Court of Sif at Summerlands ADF festival in August. This will pretty much be the same thing that Ian Corrigan did last year with his Court of Brigid except that it will be for the Norse Goddess, Sif. Much thanks to Ian for inspiring me to do this. I understand your fears, when you are internally comparing yourself to Ian as far as his bardic abilities and large group ritual experience. I would probably be feeling the same way in your shoes. But I would hope that those around me would be supportive and blunt enough to say to me what I am about to say to you...
STOP THAT!!
Just because the base idea is the same, does NOT mean that they need to be compared. For starters, you are working within a different culture, and you are an entirely different person, with a different spiritual approach. So it only follows that you would lead us in a ritual differently than Ian would.
This is what it is, neither good nor bad, just different.
And to have a variety of approaches to something that is fairly experimental seems, at least to me, to be a wise thing. What works for one person may not work as well for another, so you may find someone who had little success during Ian's working to be much more successful during your own.
I also think that the Rune Valdr bracelets are an inspired idea.
:) I don't want to wish my summer away, but this makes me even more excited for Summerlands this year.
