100 lbs.: A retrospective.

Sep 02, 2007 00:16

I'm crossposting this from the Ministry, just so I have a free-floating copy I can link people to.

One Hundred pounds.
As an abstract measurement, it doesn't seem particularly remarkable. Sure, on the heavy side for most people, but not that heavy. But just for kicks, let's take a look at a few things that measure up to that nice clean number, 100 lbs.

Your basic blacksmith's anvil. Made of solid iron.

Nice, leather exterior punching bag, useful for exercising or just letting off some steam. Salty old trainer not included.

This moderate-quality trap kit, including shipping materials. Now you too can pretend to be in a punk band.

A 6' garden bench, good for sittin'.

This 50-bottle wine cooler, for everyone who wants to be a sommelier but lacks a chateaux with a cellar.

A good-sized Halibut, caught by Wayne here in Alaska.

$4000 worth of genuine Hawaiian Kona Coffee, in authentic burlap sack. Allow 10 days for delivery.

Enough silver for a DS lite across the pond wot wot wot.

And last but not least, alternaporn star Liz Vicious, here in a rare shot with clothes on.

I've had my ups and downs over the last 14 months, but I've made it this far, there's more road behind me than ahead of me (not counting the rest of my life, that is), and I just gotta say...

Goddamn does it feel good.
