"In God we Trust"?
In the aftermath of the 911 crisis, the nation came together to mourn the death of the many who fell victims to the terrorist attack. May God be with them. Not since the tragedy that befell the American People at Pearl Harbor, i dont think, had we bear witness to such a revival of patriotism that rivaled that of our founding fathers. The nation's forefathers, whose wisdom is so eloquently manifested in our Constitution took pride and consequently, so too does the American people in their pseudo-ill-conceived notion that The United States of America was founded on Godly precepts. So blindly did they subscribe to this latter notion, that we may look no further than the dollar bill whereupon we find the "motto" of this nation: "In God we Trust". Or did they? Within the dollar bill we also see an emblem in the form of a pyramid with the so-called all watching eye of God. This pyramid also serves as the symbol for a secret society whose members, among many government officials include of all people, George Washington. Ironically enough, the society does not subscribe to religion and furthermore denounces God specifically the Christian God. They are more so concerned with secular affairs as appose to those of the church which were more an issue in the monarchy of England whom the U.S., in their pursuit to built a Nation that could be considered England's antithesis, rebelled against proclaiming their freedom.
It is this juxtaposition of these two contradictory elements that screams volumes of the hypocrisy/cynicism that the good o'U.S. of A was built on. We are a nation built on an intricately put together infrastructure of contradictions that we cloak under the name of God. Recently, a documentary by the name of FAHRENHEIT 911 has come to a screeching halt because the film, "examines the roles that President Bush and the bin Laden family played in the days following the terrorist attacks committed against America on September 11, 2001...911 also examines the close business ties between the Bush and bin Ladens prior to 9/11 and is critical of Bush's role in stopping terrorist activity". How dare we suggest/point-out/"uncover" what we all already know, namely that The U.S. lays in bed with the enemy...what is it that they say? Know thy enemy? But yes, may God be with the U.S. of A...may God be with our forefathers where ever they may be...
