Who would you go to for advice?

How easy would you guess it is, and how expensive?

(I realise that a lot of the information about how to start a business is just a Google away. I'm interested in what people's casual, general understanding and impressions are like).

Hmm... my guardian knows a bit about it. Well... not really, since she started her business under a Tory Government and ran it in about 6 years of Labour government, I suspect things are very different today.

And from what I know of from people who have tried, it has got significantly harder for small start-up businesses over the last decade.

Easy enough (just requires actually doing all the nitty-gritty), expense depends partly on the business but I imagine not hella cheap but cheap enough for most people to do.
