So, Monday night me and Alex are slobbing on the sofa, waiting if ANTM to start (fuseblues knows what I am talking about) and there was a bit of a cuffle outside. Now, where we live sometimes the kids get a little over excited and make some noise and every now and then the odd joy rider or police car take out the bollard outside the house. It's not a bad area really, just on the edge of one. Anyway, there was a disturbance by our front gate, we ignored it until there was a knock on the front door. Standing at our front door was a shabby looking grungy kid with a transformers t-shirt on and his girlfriend was trying to get through our gate and saying something about him having broken his leg. A little odd, I thought. She calmed down enough to say he had broken his leg about 4 weeks ago and had just vaulted our front gate (it is an awkward front ate to get open in the dark if you have never encountered it before). Behind her to behooded youngsters were eyeing them up and having a good look at the fact that they were stood at the front door. It tanspires that as they had come out of the leisure centre at the bottom of our road a couple of hooded kids of about 14 had ridden p behind the lad on their bikes and hit him with sticks. Apart from being shaken and his leg being painful he was more or less ok. His girlfriend was untouched, she said they just wanted to pick on her boyfriend. Well, we invited them in and gave them a cuppa and let them phone the police. They dutifully repeated all the information to the policewoman who arrive about 10 minutes later, and added their own personal biases, which probably didn't help, but then the policewoman was very calm and unopinionated. Then she asked how long we had know the couple and we explained about 1/2 and hour and she took them home. So, luckily we had recorded ANTM and settled down to watch it once our front room was vacated again. It was a different Monday night, it has to be said.
I tried to get the battery out of the car earlier on. Failed! I have the rachet set, just no tooly type bit to attach the right size ratchet to! Hopefully Alex can find the bit tomorrow so we can charge the battery and get the car on its way to the garage on Saturday and fingers crossed they have the right alternator or servo or whichever bit of the car needs fixing.
I am just about to settle down to watch Ladette to Lady, I have got a bit addicted I think.
