(no subject)
So I was just thinking earlier today that this was the first holiday weekend in months where I wasn't oncall. Then about 45 minutes ago, I get a text message from the current primary asking if I could cover secondary until Tuesday. It turns out he was in a motorcycle accident and is in the hospital.
The timing of this is amusing in another way as well. I'm working on another project that's not tested and documented enough yet for our oncall rotation to cover, so I have it page me directly. So I've been carrying my pager anyway for the past few weeks. My pager battery died this afternoon, so I stopped by my office to pick up the charger. I got the above mentioned text message just as I got to my office. So, I would have had to go in to get the charger anyway. I probably should have looked to see if any of the EDGE cards were available while I was there.
