I kind of just eased into my birthday and didn't really realize that it happened until today...

Anyway, with my birthday came ways of bettering myself both physically and mentally. I got some crest white strips, so now i hopefully won't have nasty discolored teeth. I also got some proactive which i'm very excited about, now i can have a success story! My Bed Bath and Beyond gift certificate will go towards bettering my culinary skills and buying nice things in the hopes that i will actually take care of my apartment. My sister also got me some philosophy books, actually graduation present, but they came in with the birthday stuff anyway. I've started reading Plato's "Symposium."

Other than that, i haven't really done much outside of work. I've actually been moved up from just a lowly "spoon girl" to a cheese specialist in training. Our cheese specialist just up and quit one day last week, so my boss decided that she had heard enough good things about me that i was apparently responsible and clever enough to manage the cheese case.

I've come to realize that i probably have Rebecca's dream job right now. All i do all day is cut cheese, help people pick out the perfect type to go with their yuppie dinner parties, and do samplings. It's so great, whenever i get to do samplings for customers, i get to sample myself, holy shit, awesome! I just tried the best horseradish jack. Man, and today, i tried some mango ginger stilton, so good! I also had some "cave aged gruyer", because that whole cave aged bullshit matters. It was nice, very strong, almost reminiscent of a nice aged regiano, or so i tell my customers. It also goes very well with a nice fondue or cheese souffle.

The other reason why i believe that Rebecca would love this job is because, though i can't, she would be able to hang out and speak Russian with Olga all day. Olga is our Russian (no shit) sampler (sets up the daily samples for the customers) and wine expert. She's really cool, a bit snobby though, but humorous none the less.

So anyway, that's about all that's going on in my life. I was supposed to go clubbing on my birthday, but that fell through, so we're going on the 20th. Dyke Night, here i come!!

Later all, and just so you know, the muenster and horseradish jack are on sale for 6.99 and 5.99 lb, and the "cave aged" gruyer is on sale for 10.99 lb. I'm not going to give you the usual feed i give my customers, but just imagine me kissing ass to some rich bitches while explaining the texture and taste of the different cheeses. Later!
