A benefit gala for Sens Productions...
From May 6th, 2008

So last Tuesday I volunteered for a benefit gala for Noemie Lafrance. She's raising money for her newest dance piece, which is a dance on top of the roof of a Frank Gehry building at Bard College. The roof is one of Gehry's cartoon titanium jobs, so it buckles and folds like a Looney Toons cartoon.

The gala itself was held at Gehry's only building in New York City, the IAC Building. Noemie Lafrance held a benefit dinner with two dance performances and a party with free alcohol.

She needed people to work the tables, coat check, DJ, servers, food preparers, and everything else. She asked me, and since I'm unemployed, I said yes. I thought they'd put me in back, but they stuck me up front in coat check and as a wine server. I busted my butt working from noon until about 10pm, but it was a lot of fun and I met a lot of great people.

What follows is a few pictures and a YouTube video of the piece itself, which is called "Rapture," and which had a dress rehearsal last year at Bard College:

Here's my pictures from the gala:

Here are pictures of the dance performance. I'm going to upload a video I took. It was really cool, even though my vantage point sucked. And yeah, they're topless.
