This book is the best because I was able to sneak it to my boyfriend's crazy conservative dad under the guise of 'I know you love alternative history, I thought this might be different enough to be interesting!'

He actually really liked it--mostly he was surprised that Roth is still goin' strong.

Does the dad still support Bush? Is he one of those 18%? Did he see the connection between the book and today, or did he bring up something like "See, ya can't trust those crazy liberal isolationists!"

I think it's less that he supports Bush and more that he just hates most Democratic leadership. He's actually really hilarious. He has a sign-making business so he makes all of these really hysterical low-quality bumper stickers that say things like ANYONE BUT HILLARY and threatens to put them on my car.
