my last cab ride, my driver was from sudan. the dude I was with said something like "in the news a lot these days, huh" and the cabbie basically freaked out, saying people were making that shit up, and that some people were dying but it wasn't as bad as everyone said, and that that whole genocide thing was a hoax to mask another ploy for oil

Weird, our government doesn't let the janjaweed in - wonder what his background was - and he knows that the Sudan IS that bad - I wonder why would he say differently? But he's right about one thing, it is about oil. Our media doesn't make that clear. The genocide came when the government wanted the land occupied by the Dinka (and other people).
