So I've spent the last 5 years mastering what is now a completely useless skill. Station Square was the last theater in the lower mainland (and soon one of the last in all of North America) that still used 35mm film as opposed to digital. It makes me kind of sad. Part of the reason why I kept the theater job for as long as I did was because I really REALLY enjoyed working in projection booth. Didn't have to deal with people and I was really good at it (I had to correct/teach managers how to do some of that stuff). But now 35mm is no more. Which is sad.

Oh and if you don't know what I'm rambling on about, Station Square, the theater I worked at finally shut down. They were already ripping the wiring from the walls last Tuesday. I have a giant "M" that was slashed out of the projector screen that everyone signed. Kind of wanted to get one of the screens for myself but they said we couldn't use ladders to get them due to some safety BS. Which sucks.

So now I'm working at Strawberry Hill theaters and it suuuuccckkkss. I actually have to do constant pointless work. Standing on door is the most boring thing ever. At least at station I would only have to do it for 30 minutes tops while each set started then I could go to booth to find something to do (or just dick around on my 3DS or iPad). But at Strawberry Hill I have to literally stand in one spot for 4 to 6 hours. That or wander the hallways looking busy and cleaning theaters. It's so mind numbingly BORING. I seriously need to find another job or just quit and go to school full time.

Speaking of which, I'm looking at Vanarts. That $30,000 tuition for one year is looking painful but it's about the same or more anywhere else. They have an open house I registered for this Saturday. The semester I'd be looking to join up in starts in March which gives me time for all the student loan BS and stuff (I hate dealing with that shit). In the mean time, I'm learning on how to use Blender (free 3D modelling/animation application, not delicious juice maker) just to work on the fundamentals and have some knowledge going into it before I properly learn Maya and Zbrush and the like. I really enjoy using it, though my ADD seems to be getting worse. Perhaps it's time I talked to a doctor about that...

oh right, and I've been playing a bunch of video games and stuff. I don't know if that needs mentioning but I do always talk about it in my blogs. So yup. VIDYA GAMES.

life and stuff
