"...we will always have paris..."

Apr 08, 2006 00:30

this entry is somewhat odd, its part chase movie review entry, part random jeff melando update.

as the title suggests this is an "Ode to Casablanca"
i recently was presented with the opertunity to view the film Casablanca, if you havent heard of it you live under a rock...

first of all the film was not only the best classic film i have ever seen, im gonna go ahead and put it up there with films like midway, the searchers, and Mr Smith Goes to Washington...
ive been hearing these little phrases like "we will always have paris" in american wedding and things like that, so not only did i see and outstanding film, but its like ive tied all these strings together..

i dunno im not really doin the film any justice but heres some dialouge:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yvonne: Where were you last night?
Rick: That's so long ago, I don't remember.
Yvonne: Will I see you tonight?
Rick: I never make plans that far ahead.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[denying an official of the German National Bank entrance to the casino]
Rick: Your cash is good at the bar.
Banker: What? Do you know who I am?
Rick: I do. You're lucky the bar's open to you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Banker: Perhaps if you told him I ran the second largest banking house in Amsterdam.
Carl: Second largest? That wouldn't impress Rick. The leading banker in Amsterdam is now the pastry chef in our kitchen.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Major Strasser: Are you one of those people who cannot imagine the Germans in their beloved Paris?
Rick: It's not particularly my beloved Paris.
Heinz: Can you imagine us in London?
Rick: When you get there, ask me!
Captain Renault: Hmmh! Diplomatist!
Major Strasser: How about New York?
Rick: Well there are certain sections of New York, Major, that I wouldn't advise you to try to invade.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ed locke: ;ike i said, the french are spineless.

well i guess this is the jeff portion of the novel, umm well what can i say, these last few weeks or months i guess have been awesome, minus the prom crap, b/t mission trip, happening, things with lizzie, things with friends... sock puppet LEB basically, the life is good bumpersticker dont even begin to explain... it'll prolly hit the fan eventually, but things just seem to be well lately, so im not gonna complain...
