Farewell Veronica Mars. Series finale whatever behind the cut

So wow, this is how it ends, huh? The CW [not the CW, but his appearance was incredible] continued to bill this as a "season finale", which, to be honest, it was, even though everyone knew that it was really the series finale. It didn't play like a series finale, though, and that kind of bothered me.

After reading the TWOP messageboards, I discovered that I may be the only one on the face of the earth who likes Piz more than Logan. Frankly, I don't like Logan all that much in general, and haven't ever. Now, I also know that Piz + Veronica wouldn't be a long term thing anyway, no matter how much I like it, and that in the end she's going to end up with Logan. I guess, in some ways though, it did end like that. When Logan was beating the crap out of the Castle guy in the cafeteria at the end of the second episode, you could tell that Veronica liked/appreciated it, and you could tell that Piz noticed.

There was some classic Veronica/Keith interactions here. I loved how the episode ended, with her realizing what he had done for her, and then her voting for him. I don't think there's too much of a question that Keith lost the election, what with this headline in the newspaper as well as the debacle on Piz's radio show in front of the college students who are too stupid to vote for him.

The Kane family cameos [or "cameos"] were wonderful, and there's not a whole lot I can say about that; it was just great to see the Kanes back in the Veronica Mars universe somehow.

Part of me can't believe how this ends. That part of me wants it wrapped up with a TV movie/cinema movie [see: Firefly/Serenity]/novel. But I guess another part of me thinks that everything was at least partly resolved: Keith will always look out for Veronica, even if it costs him everything, and no matter who she may be with at a given time, Veronica and Logan will end up together somehow. I love the former thing, but the latter thing will always get to me, somehow.

Goodnight, Veronica Mars.
