Tags as an entry title

[I was gonna actually list the tags as the entry title and then have a point in the body about tag lists being used as entry titles, but then I thought "wow, 'Tags as an Entry Title' would be a good entry title!" so I went ahead with that]

- The album of the year got released today

Wilco: Sky Blue Sky

As someone who had to push ">>" a couple too many times to avoid the drone-ish-ness [mostly at the end of tracks] in A Ghost is Born, this is a welcome relief [as heard in Kicking Television, the songs are better when they're not dickin' around at the end of 'em]. It's not YHF, it's not Summerteeth, it's not Being There, it might not even be AM, but Wilco's second worst full-length is still my tops of the year. I tried making a top 5 for this year so far and I couldn't do it. I just know that SBS is number one. It's only a month until the midway point of the year, at which point I'm sure I'll do a midyear top 10 or 15. I haven't purchased the album yet, but I plan on doing so tonight

- Series finale of Gilmore Girls tonight. It's gonna be a sad evening, which will get even sadder if the Bulls don't win. Expect a tearful entry sometime in the wee hours of the night from me in the aftermath of the finale with a pertinent variation on a Styx lyric as the title ["When I think of the Lorelais my head turns all around," or something to that effect]. I wanted it to end, but now that it's ending I still feel sad.

- I will never, ever rejoice in the death of anyone, even someone who I really, really disliked, but I can't help but feel that America is slightly less intolerant today without Jerry Falwell. I'm hoping Democratic candidates will come out with words of sympathy for the family, but also speak out against what he had said and stood for while he was alive.

- Chris Lowell is officially a regular cast member in the Grey's Anatomy spinoff on ABC starting in the fall. This can not bode well for Veronica Mars. [in other upfronts news, it's nice to see that Melissa McCarthy [Sookie St. James from Gilmore Girls] and Joshua Malina [oh, many things] got pilots for the fall]

- No more Studio 60. Gosh darn. I was gonna start watching Friday Night Lights, and I still will, but it got pushed into the Timeslot of Death [Friday nights, 10 PM/9 PM central], and that can not be good.

television, gilmore girls, jerry falwell, album of the year so far, wilco, politics, fall pilot casting
