update, of sorts
I never update anymore but that's mostly due to job and pregnancy. Pregnancy has been pretty easy I have to say. I haven't had ANY of the traditional discomforts or problems, I'm just getting bigger around the middle. The only issues (and it's a recent one) is the GIGANTIC swollen feet and ankles. Dude, I'm unreasonably vain about my calves and feet, so the whole OMG-CANKLES thing has me a little put out :( Whatevs... six weeks left. Where did the time go?
My company was bought (taken over?) by a HUGE international corporation. I'm still not sure what this means for me. Mostly I liked the aspect of working for a little family-owned company where informality was king. the downside was crappy benefits and no career ladder. now I have RRSP matching and better benefits and possible opportunities for future advancement nin a gigantic international transportation chain... but the new president looks at me like I have crawled out from under a rock. I don't think he likes my tattoos. I'm a little stressed that I have spent five years of my life devoted to my career (and rightly so, I've tripled my income and made a name for myself as a rising star in the industry) but will now go on mat leave right during the transition period and lose my chance to prove myself to new boss :(
and it's snowing. snowing sucks right now because GIANT feet only fit in flip-flops. I should paint my toenails blue pre-emptively so that the ensuing frostbite will look almost normal.
oh well. life goes on. I'm off to clean out my car and have it towed to the junk yard and hopefully obtain another car on the way home. wish me and my frozen feet luck.
