Dating Today????
I'm not quite sure I understand dating anymore...I've been out of the loop for what seems to be a very long time...why I'm typing this out I don't really know...well maybe I do...maybe I just want to know if any of you out there feels the same way as I do...
long story short - i was in love with and committed to a man(we could say BOY) for 5 years. I met him when I was 14, started dating him when I was 15, and stayed with him until a year ago.
Dating is so different now...maybe I missed out on the part of my life where I was supposed to learn there are different "types"/"styles" of dating because I was with my ex. It just seems to me that NOW people kiss and sleep together before they ever agree to commit to each other, if they even agree to commit at all. And well I don't know maybe times have changed and thosee changes passed me by, but in my own opinion I'd like to talk to the person and get to know that person, fall in love with their personality and if fate allows a nice kiss before the night is through, then more dates, and possibly commitment.
Maybe I'm old fashioned I don't know anymore but things are just moving so fast right now. theres people who are "seeing", people who are "dating" and, people who are "dating exclusively".
I'm starting to convince myself that I'm CrAzY but I think dating is dating is DATING, and D-A-T-I-N-G is C-O-M-M-I-T-T-I-N-G to each other! It's not dating if you're not commited to one person. You can't (well i mean you CAN, people do it all the time, but in my mind YOU CANNOT) tell one lover you're in love them while you're sleeping with someone else. You can't ride the fence on this subject.
YOU LOVE SOMEONE?? STAY WITH HIM/HER!! And if you DON'T love them or see a future with them DO NOT sell YOURSELF or the OTHER PERSON short!
