Monsters in the Fog
Dawn broke suddenly
over the concrete and glass horizon
through the heavy fog it was diffused
into a blanket of white light
bright yellow eyes flashed by
their roar curiously wizened
sipping from steaming coffee
I have nothing left to lose
right?
as dawn continued to break
smoke curled upwards from my mouth
to join the lowered cloud
which did not wish to ascend
with a low and mighty rumble
comes a behemoth to bear me south
it's jaws open, preternaturely loud
as it's mouth closes 'round me
out my thoughts send
I am alone.
