Salt Water - the New Nose Candy

Instead of wallowing in my illness as is my wont - I decided not to cancel my walk with KatKoala this morning. I've read that mild exercise can be quite beneficial in strengthening the body's defense against illnesses such as the (not so) common cold. At one point, I thought I was crazy - but after slowing down a bit - I actually think the walk helped. I could feel the blood circulating and extra oxygen perculating. Plus, I started sweating out all those little germies.

Katkoala was very patient with my whinging and slow pace and suggested that I actually try using the Netti Pot to help with my full and sore sinuses.

I've been on the fence for sometime about this - I've heard nothing but good things about it, but the thought of sticking anything but my finger up my nose had me at a stall.

It's a sign of how miserable I am that I'm even considering it.

KatKoala said she's been doing for over a year now and results have been great. She also said you can use the baby snot sucker (my words not hers) rather than shelling out for a netti pot.

So, first try - not so good. Got the water down my throat and almost choked. Frantic phone call to KatKoala and learned I'm tilting to far back. Even though I was tilting to far back, I did cough up some nasty looking phlegm - so that was good.

A few more tries and I had some partial success. I feel much less congested and my sinuses aren't throbbing so much - so I'll keep at this. Practice makes perfect.
