Library computers are not for you to go on your MYSPACE, FACEBOOK, and/or sports sites. They are not for you to sit around for hours at a time browsing your email. They are also not for you to sit at playing games when you have a perfectly usable computer in your room. And if you don't have a computer, buy one! You can get a decent PC for 100-200, no not top of the line, but decent does email plays games, goes on facebook etc. So there is no excuse for someone to not have a computer in this age. Laptop, that's a different story, but you can even get a laptop for 4-500 now.
Library computers ARE for printing off papers, working on papers if you have asshole roomies who don't get the idea that you need to work on a paper, or checking for books or other items in the library. They are also for international students who may not have the money to buy a laptop to bring with them to study in the States.
Also, from what I was told, computers near the stacks on the 2nd and 3rd floors were just for looking up books on Minerva. However, why is it that every time I go upstairs knowing what book I want but just needing to double check the location, people are sitting surfing the internet/checking email on said Minerva computer use.
Please be considerate of those of us who just need to get on the library computer for 3 minutes to download and print something off instead of sitting on your myspace ignoring those of us walking around for 10 minutes just to find a computer.
Sincerely,
--Tired of having to race for the one open computer when she only needs to print one page of work--
