If only my first post in months was under better circumstances.
Last night after I returned from an evening out up Oxford Street, I got a phone call from my Mum who told me that my Nan had suffered a massive stroke and had been taken to hospital, the prognosis was not good. My Dad had gone down there and she'd stayed at home as my Dad has 5 siblings who were all gradually descending on the place and thus they didn't need another person hanging around. She said she'd call me if there was any news, or if it was too late in the night, she'd text me.
This morning I woke to a text that said she'd passed away at about 1:30am.
As my Dad said, if she could have chosen how she was going to go, this would probably have been it. She was completely unconscious, and surrounded by her children (and hopefully not her extended family as that would have been a huge number of people). It all happened without warning, indeed she'd been quite happily writing her Christmas cards, so she had no time to be afraid or anything like that, I don't even think she was in any pain. I expect we'd all choose to go that way if we could.
So here's to you Nan, 'S Rioghal Mo Dhream
