I'll start with this link:
The Amusement Showcase International 2006 Website. Quick info:
Who: Lots of people from what I've heard are planning on going. Bacon plans on going this year to for video and such.
What: It isn't official by any means, but I think it's highly likely that this will be the unveiling of the ITG3 beta. This is where they debuted the dedicated cabinets last year. While I'm pretty sure they will still have two machines (last year they had a upgraded DDR and a dedicated cabinet) I will assume that they'll do the same thing as last year by showcasing one of each machine package for potential buyers. Additionally I heard that Pump It Up: Zero will be here so I kinda wanted to try that out too.
When: March 16th (Thursday), 17th (Friday), and 18th (Saturday). Nothing takes place on Sunday. I don't remember the exact hours, but it was something like 10am until 6pm or something like that. I definately could be wrong here though and I don't see any information on that yet.
Where: Inside the
Hyatt Regency Downtown Chicago. (Note: This is a different hotel that the one which hosts Anime Central [which is the Rosemont/O'Hare]. Be EXTREMELY careful when looking up hotel information regarding this area as there are several hotels with even the same name only like a block apart. For example, last year I stayed with .Sin(Sal), AntonioWBR, and Xuxa(Tim) at the Courtyard by Marriott on Mag. Mile. However I didn't realize that it was so when I parked at the Courtyard by Marriott, which is about 6 blocks away and I had to carry my luggage all the way there.)
Why: Because of who and what of course! Hopefully there will be a bunch of people from all over since a lot of others are in anticipation of the potential ITG3 debut. Even if it's not there, it'll be fun to have everyone together to hang out and whatnot. Oh and because all the games there are on free play ;)
How: More like... how much, amirite? Registration can be found at
this link. Badges are $40 if you do so before March 3rd, otherwise they raise to $65. It says some stuff about providing a company name, but it's not really vital, die-hard, important information. I think I put Stroh's Ice Cream Parlor last year (and will be doing so again this year). Just try not to take someone else's because there is
a raffle for $75,000 worth of arcade equipment including a Pump It Up machine and a bunch of other stuff that your name gets put into when you register, but they can only take one person per company. So try and get somewhere to let you use their name if you plan on winning them free stuff =p
Now if you're interested either post here or in the thread on ITGFreak that I'm going to link to here. Maybe then we can figure out ride and rooming arrangements and such. (Note that all prices are based on double bed rooms and if the price is an XX for a certain day, it's sold out for that night. Also, don't just go by these prices because since this is doesn't show the additional cost for additional people in the room, which for hotels like Best Western for example, adds like another $19 a night per person beyond the second person in the room. And don't forget that most places charge somewhere around a 15% extra for tax and gratuity, depending on the hotel it could even be more.)
And idea on rooming cost in the area: (these are probably the best of the choices that I saw and very in distance, quality and price)
