I understand people are individuals and that people are uniquely conditioned by all their experiences and circumstances that cannot be recreated; but, there is still one thing I can't understand.

Over the course of highschool, I have gotten to know a lot of different people. They have all proven to be individuals or whatnot. The one thing I can't understand are those friends who are not religious at all (and those who subscribe to another religion, also) do not come from a religious background, are vegetarian, emo/straightxedge/punk/various forms of other fuckers, or just very serious about the arts, who still have these crazy mentalities about homosexuality and/or politics.

I was talking to this kid today in one of my classes who is agnostic and vegetarian... and he is the one who stated his reason for being agnostic was to be free and experience being human. But, today, he just could not understand, or even like cope with the idea of homosexuality being inherent.

It just boggles me. And yes, I am guilty of the exact same thing when I say the things I said above, but I am just trying to question someone for going against what you would expect from him/her.

I just don't understand. I am not criticizing those people, I seriously am asking 'why'?

It just seems to me that if you are very tolerant, not religious or follow an alternative faith, have alternative lifestyles, gay/bi/homo sympathetic that you wouldn't vote for Bush or that you would take the time to listen to another side. It just seems to follow logic that they would be reverse.

Agnostics/Atheists are one of the largest advocates for Gay Rights.

Especially other homosexuals who have very conservative views. It is almost an insult to 'our people', in my mind, to vote for Bush. Even though there are much larger issues that I decide to vote/be Democrat, that is still allowing the government to perpetuate stereotypes and legally discriminate against an entire class of Americans.

I am asking. Does anyone have answers?

And I need ass. Now.
