Of course she's a girl who's generous to a fault.
--To a fault, Mr. Connor.
Except to other people's faults.

I think I feel an attack coming on. There's only one thing that can stop me.
--Why. You must tell me what it is.
My nurses always put their arms around me.

What she needs is a guy that'd take a sock at her once a day, whether it's coming to her or not [...] A normal human being couldn't live under the same roof with her without going nutty!
--I asked you a simple question! Do you love her?
Yes. But don't hold that against me, I'm a little screwy myself.

~In my formative years (and in this case I mean romantically formative, ie my teenhood) I was a huge fan of black and white movies. Philadelphia Story, The Maltese Falcon, anything Astaire and Rogers. I ate them all up.

Having gone on sort of a binge these past few nights, I've been smacked in the face with a realization. It was probably stories like these that made me such a huge fan of relationships like Rikuou and Kazahaya's. Crazy, angry, kinky, witty, beat-up, blatant, accidental love like that just isn't in vogue these days. Okay, so the strengths of men and the strengths of women are somewhat ridiculously segregated, but the clash if wills? Always incredible to watch. Say what you will about the 1930s, but if there was one thing they weren't afraid to portray in a relationship, it was power dynamics.

In short: It Happened One Night taught me that true love was smacking someone's ass while they were hanging over your shoulder beating your back with a pair of muddy shoes, and I have never forgotten this true fact. Thank you and goodnight.

no this had nothing to do with anything. my sudden revelation just made me laugh.
