≈ Setting ≈
This is for OOC reference only. Your characters will find their way around the City through street signs and such, but this is for reference of the players to stay oriented.
ç Your character has been dropped into a strange walled city that has four districts and a center plaza. The architecture varies in the entire city but there are distinctions between each district. To the west is a beach, to the north are mountains, to the south, a desert, to the east, rolling, forested hills and plains beyond. The city has ruins around its four gates, but the gates remain closed most of the time.
ç The Map:
ç The Districts:
The Northern District:
This district contains the library as well as other fine buildings--the museum, the gymnasium and the "rich district" of the residential areas. European architecture dominates the menagerie of edifices seen there.
The Southern District:
This district is more comfortable and relaxed than the North District in architecture and contains the market with its tea shops and stores and other such things. The residential area has some upper scale apartments, but is mostly dominated by various types of Middle Eastern and Oriental architecture. The South District is the oldest and contains notable ruins as well as the vast park.
The Eastern District:
This district is the most run-down of the areas in the City. The residential area is somewhat poor and the architecture seems to take after the Victorian style (although the buildings are somewhat mixed and crumbling). There are factories here and cramped, dirty and dark slums. A good place for someone looking for adventure--there are more shadows here throughout the day and the East District is more prone to turning itself into a strange, twisted maze of crooked turns and sudden corners.
The Western District:
This district is somewhat "middle class" with architecture in a refreshing, Mediterranean style (mostly). There are fields and wide areas for walking or biking here. There are also notable spas and houses of any sort of religion near the westernmost edge near the wall. Most importantly, there is a hospital there.
The Central District:
The oldest district in the City. It contains the edges of each district that center on the large, old (though well kept) plaza. The architecture here is mismatched from new buildings to old, crumbling ones from all types of worlds and time periods. At the northern part of the plaza lies the court house, built in an odd combination of Russian and ancient Western architecture.
ç Commercial:
Things like the gymnasium, library, museum, offices, religious structures and the park are located just past the border of shops that runs around the plaza.
ç Residential:
The residential areas--homes and apartments--are just beyond the commercial areas in every district.
ç The Housing and Apartments:
The houses don't seem to be open at the moment, but there are apartments for free. If your character were to search for one, they might find a place to live that's startlingly similar to the home they had before. If your character did not have a home previously, then the apartment he or she finds will reflect their desires and personality.
Living with a roommate is not required, but once you choose a roommate, you will be stuck with them--The City will not allow you to move until you've spent two months in one apartment. with another person.
Your character may sign up ICly for an apartment
here. North:
The Northern District's apartments are upper scale and stylishly elegant. There are two apartment buildings currently open, each with three floors. The first two floors have four apartments each and the third floor is a penthouse suite. There are elevators in each apartment.
They are located on Oakwood Street.
