So here's the deal. I was at Vassar earlier this year and had a Student Fellow job (it's like an RA position but you have no authority over the freshmen- that's what Campus Security is for). Anyway, I went through over a weeks of training and got fired on the first day that the Freshmen arrived because I left move-in for two minutes to buy my Freshmen friendship bracelets. Talk about ridiculous. I was forced to move out of my sweet ass room in Josselyn House and into a room in Jewett House that was smaller than the size of my old closet. Talk about lame as hell.
Several weeks later I got an e-mail from Leslie Dunn, the Dean of Sophomores. It said that my Sociology professor dropped me from his class, because I hadn't been showing up and my French professor dropped me from her's because I was far too advanced. Okay, so I signed up for Beginning French After having studied it for five years and studying abroad in France, but give me a break. I just wanted the grade. I met with her and told her that I had dropped both of those classes ages ago and turned in and ADD/DROP for at the Registrar. Apparently, there was no record of this form and I was going to receive an F in each of those classes. She said that my only option was to take a leave of absence for the rest of the semester. I would be dropped from all of my classes, my transcript would remain unscathed, and it would be like I was never there. After a few minuted of bitching,I agreed with her. I packed up all of my things, put them in storage, and left campus after telling only two people what had happened. They said that they were going to start mad roomers after I left just for fun.
When I got back to Texas after a huge drama fest with my father and stepmother, I applied to be a receptionist at Visible Changes until January when I planned to go to the Paul Mitchell Academy at Austin. I toured the campus, and got so excited that I turned down visible Changes' job offer and signed up for the november through September 10 month Full-time Term. I start on the 5th and can't wait. I applied for a Receptionist position at the Tony & Guy in the Barton Creek Mall. I'm not gonna lie, the guy that's going to be training me is totally adorable. I really hope I get the job.
In other news, Danielle and I are talking again, and my father has no idea what my plans are for the next year.
