The were pretty epic from what I heard but I never saw them because I've never been active in the DW fandom.

I've not really seen them up close, but I could just feel the vitriol from the quotes in various wank reports. Eesh, I don't know why the shippers were so serious when the pairings, despite the doom and gloom, were so happy.

I think it has more to do with the competitive nature of the the fans rather than the happiness of the pair. DW fandom does seem to have some of the most vocal shippers anywhere. I often wonder why that is.
