WTF is a suckatash anyway? Hmmm....
Any who's and what's-it's. How the hell have you all been?! Long time no chat. I've been reading up on your journals to keep up to speed and seems for the most part, everyone is doing well. Sorry I'm such a slacker in the comment area.
My busy season is starting, oh today actually. Our first big tournament of the year begins today and it's actually the only tournament that my kids are in that is the same weekend, and home tournament. Otherwise, I find myself driving the greater Seattle area 5 times in July and August. Fun fun fun!
In other news, my Suburban has finally died. Tranny went out last night....Now, technically it isn't completely shot, but seeing as I can't drive around in 1st gear or Reverse all the damn time, it's toasted enough. Which makes this whole travelling to Seattle 5 times in 8 weeks much more difficult. Oye. I don't need this headache, I truly do not.
My puppies are doing great. Doja had a couple little minor surgery's last month. She had some pretty bad hematoma (sp?) in her ears that needed to be surgically repaired, so we took care of both ears at the same time we had her girl-parts fixed and her tracking chip put in. She had a cute little pink cone of shame that she wore for 2 weeks. Gunner has been doing fabulous. We started to crate-train him and he's doing really well, as is Doja.
Khrissy turned 14 in April, Devin will be 14 in a week and a half, and Spud will be 13 in just under 2 months. I will then officially be classified insane for having 3 teenagers in my house. Tyke turned 7 on Monday and he's just as much a kick in the pants as always.
Anothony hurt his foot playing indoor soccer, turned out it wasn't broken, but he has some ligiment and tendon damage....and the fool refused to wear his walking boot/cast because it's uncomfortable. *big sigh* Some times I just want to take that boy out behind the shed and....well, that too. :-D
I have been doing all kinds of fun things this summer. I am learning more and more about my crock pot and how to use it. I've branched out beyond just making beef roast. I have now successfully made: pork roast, cheesey sloppy-joes, chicken enchilladas, pulled BBQ pork, lasagna, beef and barley stew, and creamy chicken soup. Woo-Hoo! My friends and family are teasing me about being the crock-pot queen.
And then, just this past week....I sewed. Sew? Sewed? whatever, I did it! I haven't used a sewing machine since 7th freaking grade! And I haven't touched a needle (other than tattoos and pulling splinters) since then either. I successfully sew together neck coolers. You know, those cloth tubes that expand with a gel-type substance when immursed in water to wrap around you neck to cool you off? Yup, I made them! And then, I got really brave and sewed (yes, I will keep interchanging the words because I don't know which is correct) the straps on my shirt that were too long....which I had been safety-pinning up for over a year now.
I threaded the bobbin and the needle and wrapped the thread all around the machine to make it work and everything! All by myself (with the help of an instructional DVD that came with the borrowed machine). LOL Anothony slapped me on the ass and said "I'll make a housewife outta you yet." rofl...silly boy.
